From November 9 to April 9, 2027, the Language Academy will resume its courses in English, German, French, and—for the first time—Italian for foreigners

Investing in education means investing in a region’s future. In this spirit, Smeralda Holding renews its commitment to the local community by promoting a new edition of the Smeralda Holding Language Academy, a program of completely free language courses for adults, children, and teenagers residing in the Municipality of Arzachena. From November 9, 2026, to April 9, 2027, the Language Academy will offer courses in English, German, and French, with a new addition this year: an Italian course for foreigners, designed to promote integration and greater independence in daily and professional life.drag embedded assetpublishedMario Ferraro, CEO of Smeralda HoldingThis initiative is part of the broader Smeralda Holding for the Community program and reaffirms the Group’s commitment to contributing to the community’s growth through tangible opportunities accessible to all generations.“Our commitment to hospitality goes hand in hand with our focus on the growth and quality of life of the community in which we operate,” emphasizes Mario Ferraro, CEO of Smeralda Holding. “With the Language Academy, we aim to offer people of all ages opportunities to expand their knowledge, cultivate interests, and connect with one another. This is a commitment we are committed to sustaining, recognizing that education is a resource capable of generating lasting benefits.”These words reflect a vision in which a focus on the local area goes beyond business operations, translating into initiatives that create opportunities for personal and professional growth. Language proficiency, in particular, is a valuable skill in an international destination like the northeastern coast of Sardinia, where tourism and hospitality are key drivers of the local economy. For those already working in the sector, improving their language skills means being able to communicate with greater confidence with international guests and enhance the quality of service. For young people, it means building skills today that will be useful for their academic journey and future careers. But the Language Academy is also an opportunity for connection and sharing, in line with the social value that Ferraro attributes to education.

Language Academy 2026/2027: Courses for Adults

The adult program includes a total of 12 courses: eight in English, two in German, one in French, and one in Italian for foreigners.Specifically, the English courses cover various levels, from beginner to advanced, while the German courses are designed for those with a basic or pre-intermediate foundation. The French course is at the pre-intermediate level, while the Italian for foreigners course starts at the elementary level. All adult courses consist of 70 hours of instruction, with two weekly classes, each lasting two hours. Classes will be held in person, in the afternoons from Monday through Friday, with a schedule spread over the five-month program. The goal is to provide practical tools to improve communication in daily life and at work, update one’s skills, and expand opportunities for professional integration. For those working in the tourism sector, in particular, greater language proficiency can help make interactions with international guests more effective.

Free English Courses Also Available for Children and Teens

The Language Academy also dedicates part of its program to students, with courses designed to complement their school studies and build confidence in using the English language. For elementary school students, there is a 15-hour course, with one one-hour lesson per week. For middle and high school students, two courses are available, each lasting 24 hours, with weekly lessons lasting an hour and a half. These courses are designed to reinforce the language skills acquired in school and foster greater familiarity with English—a skill that will be useful both for continuing their studies and for future personal and professional experiences.
