Fall Festivals in Gallura

All the must-see events from late summer through September

Between the sacred and the profane, between culture and environmental sustainability: the tail end of summer 2026 on the island’s northeastern coast offers tourists and enthusiasts a lineup of events ranging from religious celebrations – whose evocative rituals are renewed year after year – to festivals promoting local cuisine, as well as events focused on environmental sustainability and sporting competitions held out at sea.

As the summer season gradually gives way to more autumnal temperatures, Gallura offers a calendar packed with events. The date to mark on your calendar for those who want to experience a deeply moving moment is August 28, when, in the late afternoon, the celebrations for the feast of Stella Maris in Porto Cervo begin, marking the anniversary of the church’s consecration. After Mass, celebrated in the building that is rightly considered a true work of art – overlooking the Gulf of Porto Cervo and its marina – it’s easy to be moved by the procession at sea featuring the Madonna, carried aboard a boat and surrounded by dozens of other vessels paying homage to her. Following this, as is customary, the festivities continue with singing and dancing.

From September 5 to 13, the international festival directed by Paolo Angeli and Nanni Angeli, Isole che Parlano, returns. This year, it celebrates its 30th anniversary with an edition that involves the town of Arzachena and its archaeological sites, as well as Palau, La Maddalena, and Luogosanto. In the most picturesque spots of Gallura, the festival fosters a dialogue between contemporary arts, traditions, the landscape, and the community.

During this time, you simply can’t miss at least one of the four days dedicated to nature and the outdoors, scheduled from September 10–13, when Arzachena’s historic center ‘blooms’ thanks to Estate in Fiore, an event that this year aims to showcase the city from a new perspective – one that’s more sustainable and focused on protecting natural resources, which are often overlooked.

From September 17 to 20, the Patron Saint Festival in honor of Santa Maria della Neve, Saint Isidore, and Saint Anthony will enliven Arzachena with concerts by two giants of Italian music, Francesco Renga and Francesco Gabbani. There will also be sporting events, such as the Techno 293 regional windsurfing championship, which will take place at La Conia in Cannigione on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27.
