Where to play tennis in Porto Cervo
The Best Courses in the Area and the Summer 2026 Tournaments
Although tennis in Italy is currently unlimited by time or space, it’s common to think of this sport as a summer favourite, a season when we all feel a bit like Sinner or Paolini.
What may usually be the occasional game becomes almost a ritual between May and October, and finding a court where you can play for an hour or two is one of the goals on holiday. While this can become a treasure hunt in some places, it certainly isn’t in Porto Cervo, which offers plenty of spaces where you can bring your racket and balls for hours of fun and sport.
At the Cala di Volpe Hotel, you’ll find the Mouratoglou Academy, with four tennis courts and two padel courts, where you can practice with qualified coaches or simply have fun with family or friends. There are also tennis courts at the Grand Hotel Porto Cervo, where you can practice alone or with specialized instructors.
At the Cervo Tennis Club (on Via Porto Vecchio in Porto Cervo), there are four synthetic surface courts and a padel court, practically on the waterfront. For those who want to learn or perfect their technique, there are instructors at the Golarsa Academy, founded by the former Italian champion. Finally, the Arzachena Tennis Club boasts nearly fifty years of activity and has six courts within the sports complex.
Arzachena Tennis Club will be the epicentre of the competitive tennis summer season on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, where the 6th Emerald Open tournament will be held from 27 July to 9 August, The Open will also be held at the Terranova Tennis Club in Olbia from 18 July to 2 August, the traditional Sea Tournament with men’s and women’s singles and doubles. The same will happen north of Porto Cervo, at the Moneta Tennis Club in La Maddalena, from 3 to 16 August,
