Porto Cervo among Italian destinations of excellence: Altagamma's Association of Territories is born

Porto Cervo together with Capri, Cortina, Courmayeur and Madonna di Campiglio launch a joint project to promote a new model of sustainable, exclusive and high-quality tourism

Porto Cervo joins Capri, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Courmayeur and Madonna di Campiglio as a founding member of the new “Territori di Altagamma” Association, an initiative aimed at promoting high-end tourism in Italy and strengthening the international positioning of these iconic destinations.

The founding act was signed in Milan at the headquarters of Fondazione Altagamma, an institution that has brought together Italy’s top cultural and creative industries since 1992. With this new alliance, five of the most prestigious Italian destinations are joining forces to become a global benchmark for sustainable, high-quality tourism rooted in excellence and lifestyle.

Representing Porto Cervo is the Municipality of Arzachena, a founding member of the Association, thanks to joint efforts with the Costa Smeralda Consortium and its director Massimo Marcialis, as well as the support of Fondazione Altagamma, which identified Porto Cervo as one of Italy’s excellence destinations.

“This is yet another opportunity to promote our destination,” said Claudia Giagoni, Councillor for Tourism and Commerce of the Municipality of Arzachena, “and to communicate a concept of luxury that we interpret through slow living, connection with nature, quality of life and services, and year-round experiences tied to Arzachena’s iconic sites and culture.”

The Territori di Altagamma Association is the result of a process that began in 2023 and has led to the formalization of a network that seeks to promote Italy’s high-end tourism offering through shared strategies. The five destinations—named Honorary Members by Altagamma in 2014—have committed to developing joint projects in territorial marketing, international promotion, sustainability, and the protection of cultural heritage.

Roberto Rota, Mayor of Courmayeur, has been appointed President of the Association, while Matteo Bonapace, Director of the Madonna di Campiglio Tourism Board, will serve as coordinator of the management committee.

The Association’s key objectives include:

  • Promoting sustainable tourism aligned with the goals of the 2030 Agenda.

  • Enhancing natural, cultural, artisanal, and historical heritage.

  • Preserving the identity of local communities.

  • Developing integrated models for managing luxury tourism.

“We are delighted that the Territori di Altagamma have chosen to formalize their association and strengthen their relationship with our Foundation,” said Stefania Lazzaroni, General Manager of Altagamma. “We are confident this collaboration will lead to impactful projects and initiatives to promote Italian tourism and the excellence of these five iconic destinations, recognized worldwide for embodying our lifestyle.”
