The best restaurants in Sardinia according to the Gambero Rosso Guide 2026

The Guide celebrates Sardinia's growing prominence in Italian cuisine, with both established and new culinary excellence

From north to south, the island stands out for its quality, identity and innovation, with new restaurants joining already iconic establishments.

The highest recognition in the Trattorie category, the Three Shrimps (Tre Gamberi), once again goes to two symbols of authentic Sardinian cuisine: Abbamele Osteria in Mamoiada, led by chef Mauro Ladu, and Arieddas – La Cucina della Marmilla in Sanluri, headed by Francesco Vitale and located inside the Su ’Entu winery.
Both confirm last year’s level, celebrating a contemporary cuisine deeply rooted in tradition yet open to experimentation.

In Gallura, Il Fuoco Sacro in San Pantaleo, located within the Petra Segreta Resort, stands out for winning the award for Best Wine Cellar of the Year, while also coming close to earning the coveted Three Forks (Tre Forchette), the highest distinction in the restaurant category.

Among the new entries of this edition, still in Gallura, is Capogiro in Baja Sardinia, where chef Pasquale d’Ambrosio earns Two Forks thanks to his refined and dynamic Mediterranean cuisine.

Remaining in the north of the island, Sa Mandra in Alghero (Two Shrimps) is once again recognized as the best agriturismo in Sardinia, while also in Alghero, the restaurant La Saletta, with its vegetarian menu designed by chefs Luca Chessa and Adriano Zucca, is awarded Two Forks. A timeless classic that continues to delight diners is Da Nicolò in Carloforte, the historic restaurant of chef Luigi Pomata, also honored with Two Forks.

In southern Sardinia, Cucina.eat in Cagliari tops the list for best value for money, while the other restaurants earning Two Forks are: Su Carduleu (Abbasanta), Rafel (Alghero), Amano, Josto, Luigi Pomata, and Terra at Palazzo Tirso (Cagliari), Sa Cardiga e Su Schironi (Capoterra), Da Andrea (Carloforte), La Spigola (Golfo Aranci), Il Mattacchione (Olbia), Il Paguro (Palau), Fradis Minoris (Pula), and Arke (Quartu).

Among the bistros, Two Chairs are awarded to Cucina.eat, Bistrot 100, Old Friend, Sabores Bottega e Salsamenteria (all in Cagliari), and Raices in Sant’Antioco. In the ethnic cuisine category, Two Globes go to Gaijin Izakaya and Osteria Kobuta, both in Cagliari, confirming the growing quality of international dining options on the island.

Finally, in the Trattorie with Two Shrimps category, alongside Sa Mandra in Alghero, are La Locanda dei Buoni e Cattivi (Cagliari), L’Antica Dimora del Gruccione (Santu Lussurgiu), La Rosa dei Venti (Sennariolo), and Il Rifugio (Nuoro).
