Arzachena, the Santa Lucia Stairway 2026 celebrates 'Continuous Progress'
An installation inspired by the Fibonacci sequence transforms the historic centre of Arzachena into an open-air gallery for Easter 2026.
Arzachena is doubling down on urban art, once again transforming its historic center into an open-air gallery. The eleventh edition of the Scalinata di Santa Lucia will be signed by the international collective Truly Design Crew, leading the 2026 project entitled Upwards – From What I Am to What I Dream: A Continuous Progression.
Inspired by the Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio, the installation will be unveiled during Holy Week 2026, becoming one of the key events of Easter in Arzachena and a powerful tourist draw for the Costa Smeralda.

The iconic staircase leading to the Church of Santa Lucia continues to stand as one of the Municipality of Arzachena’s most strategic projects for cultural and tourism promotion in Sardinia. Each year, the artwork takes on a new look, generating anticipation and curiosity among residents and visitors alike. Over time, the Scalinata di Santa Lucia has become one of the most photographed landmarks in Arzachena. According to online monitoring data, the installation ranks among the most shared locations in Sardinia on social media, earning national press coverage and mentions in specialized travel blogs.
The concept chosen for the 2026 edition is signed by Truly Design Crew, the internationally renowned collective from Turin specializing in public art interventions. The artwork will be created on 75 wooden panels and revealed only during installation, panel by panel, heightening the element of surprise.“
The Fibonacci sequence and the architecture of nature is the theme we proposed for this edition,” explains Emanuele Ronco, Creative Director of Truly Design. “The concept behind our project is transformation and continuous progression. We drew inspiration from the Fibonacci sequence (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34…) and the golden ratio to express how every achievement is the result of an evolutionary journey: one’s present identity is not denied, but transformed through small steps toward a dream. Through the use of chromatic gradients and striking geometric forms, the artwork evokes the underlying architecture of all things, highlighting the connection that unites humanity and nature.”
